SCORE2-LAC for Latin America and the Caribbean

The SCORE2-LAC risk calculator is a cardiovascular risk assessment tool based on the established SCORE2 model. It estimates an individual’s 10-year risk of experiencing a first major cardiovascular event, such as a heart attack or stroke. The calculator has been specifically adapted for populations in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), providing risk predictions that better reflect the characteristics and cardiovascular disease patterns of these populations.

Regionally relevant risk estimates

SCORE2-LAC was developed in recognition of the fact that cardiovascular risk factor distributions, disease incidence, and mortality rates vary across regions. By incorporating data from Latin America and the Caribbean, the tool aims to deliver more regionally relevant risk estimates and support future cardiovascular prevention strategies.

Evaluation and exploration

We are pleased to announce that the SCORE2-LAC calculator is now available as a feasibility-study device on our U-Logiq platform. The calculator is currently provided for evaluation and exploration purposes only. It has not been certified under local medical device regulations, including the European Medical Device Regulation (MDR), and should not be used as a basis for clinical decision-making.

As a U-Prevent user, you are invited to explore and test the calculator and help us assess the potential value of a region-specific cardiovascular risk prediction tool in clinical practice.
